Published Research

The FHSQ is widely used internationally as an important foot health outcome measure. Its ease of use (less than 10 minutes for patients to complete) , high degree of validity, reliability and repeatability make it a practical adjunct to both laboratory or clinical research.

The seminal article published in 1998 details the psychometric development of the FHSQ. Bennett, P.J, et al Development and validation of a questionnaire designed to measure foot-health status in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association 1998. 88(9): p.419-428.

A follow-up article published in 2001 illustrates how the FHSQ was utilised in nation wide Australian clinical study. Bennett, Patterson and Dunne. Health-Related Quality of Life Following Podiatric Surgery. JAPMA Volume 91 • Number 4 • April 2001

The scientific articles listed below demonstrate how the FHSQ has been implemented in over 150 trials and demonstrates the questionnaires clinical utility, the ultimate measure of a tools usefulness.
